Welcome Students to the Black Caucus of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD)!
We especially welcome graduate and undergraduate students to the Black Caucus of SRCD. As student members, you represent our efforts to build capacity through professional development opportunities for early Black scholars and others interested in promoting Black child development research in SRCD. We encourage you to participate in research opportunities with faculty mentors at your respective colleges and universities. Many institutions have long provided undergraduate students with substantive research experiences at the undergraduate level while others have recently embarked on such initiatives.
Other related and collaborative opportunities: For undergraduate students, we encourage you to apply to the Millennium Scholars Program which offers undergraduate students Junior and Senior mentors who may provide them with guidance and support in the pursuit of their educational and professional goals and which provides funding for them to attend the SRCD Biennial Meeting. You can find more information about the program and the deadline at our website: www.srcd.org/hmsp.html.
Membership in the Black Caucus: Student membership applications to the Black Caucus of SRCD are accepted on an ongoing basis. Note that we offer student membership rates and can sometimes assist with dues. Please explore our website to learn more about us.
